Meet The S.G.G. Team!

The Scholarship & Grant Guide™ is published by eFinancialAid.com, Inc. Here's a quick run-down on the Team, whose specialized and diverse talents blend so successfully to make SGG what it is today. In short, we're nice people to do business with!

Jerry Bohlken

The Scholarship & Grant Guide™ is an ongoing labor of love for Jerry - former President and owner of America’s largest independent insurance and securities marketing firm. As a highly experienced and respected financial aid counselor, Jerry and his staff found themselves repeatedly being asked the same questions by concerned students and parents alike ...

"Where do I look for scholarships and grants?" "How do I begin?"
"I've tried the Internet, the library, my high school guidance counselor and the bookstores, but I'm totally confused. Isn't there an easier way?"

There wasn't! So Jerry decided to do something about it. Over a period of 4 years he built up a team of talented researchers, created The Scholarship Group LLC, and The Scholarship And Grant Guide™ was born. Since then SGG's totally impartial recommendations have helped thousands of students and parents to successfully locate the specific grants and scholarships they needed.

Once featured on Time magazine's front cover, Jerry created “The greatest life insurance marketing idea of the century" - a concept which changed the face of Life Insurance for ever. Many people are convinced that SGG will be referred to in the same way.

Ray Tobaygo

Ray has extensive credentials in the educational field with a BA in Social Sciences, Education.  Having worked in the school system for many years as a teacher and coach, he is currently a consultant/analyst in the areas of graduate and undergraduate financial aid, search and admissions. In addition, he writes for three newsletter forums on matters concerning educational practices and accomplishments, and is a widely published newspaper article writer.

A former Teacher of the Year, and recipient of the Governor's Teacher Recognition Award, Ray has also received the Princeton University's Outstanding Practices Recognition Award, and outstanding Secondary Educator's award. We're proud and privileged to have Ray as a key player in our Team.

Jann Gentry

Jann, a former Public Affairs Vice President, cheerfully and uncomplainingly copes with the overall administration of SGG.

A one time University Assistant Director in charge of researching and writing grant applications, she has first hand intimate experience of the scholarship award system, and the mindset of College Financial Officers. Her eldest daughter is a college student, so she 'feels' the problems you may be going through in securing a college place.

Jann holds a Bachelors degree in Public Relations, and has completed post-graduate work on her Masters in Business Administration. She is a successful published author and dedicates a lot of her time to researching and reviewing Scholarship sites, ensuring that SGG is kept constantly up to date.

Aimee Stuart

Aimee's whole life has been involved in and around the education scene, and her experience is second to none. That's why her research and reviewing ability is so important to SGG.

She has a Masters Degree in Education and her formidable resumé includes Director of International and Multicultural Services, Assistant Director of Admissions, Admissions Counselor, Teacher, Coordinator of Recruitment, and Tutor.

Her extensive Professional Memberships include:

Toledo Area Federation of Teachers
ECHHO- Educators in College Helping Hispanics Onward
OACAC- Ohio Association of College Admission Counseling
NAFSA- Association of International Educators

Aimee also has wide experience with urban youth in the areas of college admission counseling, financial aid, scholarships, and career assessment, making her the ideal team member for SGG.

Matthew Bohlken

Matthew has been heavily involved in the development of SGG from the time of it's inception. His frustrating experiences while researching and writing reviews and ratings for The Scholarship and Grant Guide™, inspired him to make SGG even more user-friendly than before.

Matthew has personal experience of the grant-finding jungle, having funded 100% of his own college tuition using government sponsored grants, scholarships and loans, gaining a BA in Business Communications, and an Associate Degree in Economics.

The success of SGG is due to the experience and self motivation of team members like Mathew, who was previously a Senior Educational Finance Counselor, developing funding plans for college students. He diligently maintains an excellent on-going relationship with several thousand schools, and has personally initiated college funding and student tuition payment plans totaling $27 million.

Tom Glander

As well as his involvement in the day-to-day running of the company, Tom looks after all the 'Techie stuff' needed to ensure that SGG is kept up to date and bug free. Designing Web pages, automated messaging and all the necessary gizmos we use, are all kept firmly under his watchful eye.

Tom is particularly well known for his ability to translate technical information into 'plain' English, and is the author of several extremely successful 'How-to' books, and innumerable tutorials. He has a bachelors degree in Public Relations and Communications, and puts his skill to use making the SGG Website so user-friendly!

Denise Duperron

Denise's administration and organizational skills are extraordinary. And somehow she still finds time to get involved in the research and communications side of the company.

Denise finds it extremely easy to empathize with people, and spends much of her spare time involved in various community service projects - being a Tutor for the  Los Angeles Literacy Program and a Secretary Volunteer worker.
